Three workshops by Elizabeth Haughton are among the training opportunities in Precision Teaching and Lindamood Phoneme Sequencings (LiPS)
In using Precisions Teaching techniques, skills are taught and then practiced until they are fluent because rather than just accuracy predicts retention and transfer into more complex repertoires and application in novel contexts. All of the workshops will use curricula of the Haughton Learning Center.
Elizabeth Haughton is a teacher who has used the techniques of Precision Teaching in classrooms and in her private practice, the Haughton Learning Center, for more than twenty-five years. She participated in the original research that demonstrated the correlation between rates of performance and students' abilities to retain and apply skills. Elizabeth has trained and supervised teachers in several schools, including Morningside Academy, a school for children with significant learning difficulties in Seattle, Washington.
